Reading at New Dramatists with Wallace Shawn
Had the chance to take part in this amazing reading of Wallace Shawn’s OUR LATE NIGHT, a play he hadn’t heard read in the US in 30 years. Sexually charged, bizarre, provocative stuff. Fascinating conversation with New Dramatist Resident Playwright Francine Volpe and Mr. Shawn afterward. The excellent cast included Lisa Joyce, Gibson Frasier, Andrew Garman and yours truly. Directed by the New Group’s Ian Morgan.

Launching of APRIL MATTHIS’Official Blog
Good People. I hereby decree throughout the land that I now have a blog. This one. Here you can find more about me, APRIL MATTHIS, and where you may see my work. This weekend I’m rehearsing for the first reading of Frank Boudreaux’s THE WORLD GETS LOWEN AND JOE, directed by THE TEAM’s Rachel Chavkin and featuring Tom Ligon, Sharon Hope, Annie McNamara and many awesome more. Monday, Oct. 10th, 8pm at The Bushwick Star.
Then, on Tuesday, it’s the first day o’rehearsals for Carla Ching’s THE SUGAR HOUSE AT THE EDGE OF THE WILDERNESS, directed by Daniella Topol. More to come on that one.
Thanks for checking me out! Hope you are fine & dandy.
